1. Who can I Play?The most suitable character you can think of. OCs, Canon Characters, AUs, Fandom AUs, Malleable Protagonists, and if it's not on the list, ask and it will be considered. The point of Fallers is to explore possibilities! Currently the hard limit we do not accept are real life Celebrities unless they have a fictional interpretation such as the WWE cast in the
Scooby Doo and Flintstone movies for example.
1a The +1 Rule What's this Plus One rule? I don't get it? Well, Lusamine's a weirdo first thing. Basically, she's come up with a nonsense numering system for all of these doubles, duplicates and people from worlds that fill the same roles. So basically, for all of you malleable protagonists, similar characters like your Game and Movie Detective Pikachus, Warriors of Lights, You will be assigned a +1, +2 or whatever in order of your application depending on how goofy Lusamine is. Don't worry, it's just for organization sake and AC purposes.
In short, this only affects the [pikachu: detective pikachu +1] style of tag for example, or the [name: wol +3] tag but remember to tag your entries!
You may play up to
2 from the same canon for a soft recommended roster of 6 characters in total but try not to exceed it if you're feeling overwhelmed I'm not your mom.
2. My Character is Dead!/Non Human Doesn't matter. Does that stop Pokemon? Ash Ketchum's been dead before. Twice even. Death is not going to stop you from interacting with people here on Alola and you can even have the option of
Coming In as a Pokemon. Non-human? This is a WORLD OF POKEMON. Just come as you are, this is fine! If you're way too big to fit on the island though, the
Radiant One will indeed size you down a tad bit to the size of a Golurk.
3. How Do We Arrive?Through an Ultra Hole.

4a. I actually have a question: Can we come through willingly?As of November, yes you can! A IC post detailing the effects of having 6 Arceus Plates in possession of the Ultra Guardians will stabilize the pathways will be posted. Pokemon and Ultra Beasts will soon begin to appear through the Ultra Holes in the other worlds, with much more frequency, possibly months before the events of Fallers even began. This can prompt the people on the other side of the Hole to look into ways to send some of their best and brightest through them, in the case of Overwatch Members, including one
Angela who is functioning as a local doctor. As of November 2019, Fallers are allowed to app in as
Willing Fallers instead of inadvertent ones, although inadvertent Fallers will also be allowed. Also, traveling to the Pokemon World by your own means, and becoming stuck there if only temporarily can also be a point of issue!
5. Sex? Pregnancy?As this is a short run game, it is allowed, but marking toplevels and fading to black is required. We're in the Anime and while it is implied it happens, please remember we're in a PG world with PG level of fighting and death. It happens, but we don't need to know it happens. If you get pregnant? Congratulations! We'll throw a wedding!
6. Activity CheckActivity will be counted every month as a
Check In with encouraged Bonuses, and be made with one the following:
1. A post in the RP comm
2. Any combination of 10 comments with a different person each month in any amount of threads
3. A top-level in a Mingle thread posted by a player or a Mod
That's it! All you need to remember is to tag into the Check In before the end of the period, in which you as a player will be asked if you wish to continue with the game or not by a moderator. Checking in and completing the formerly required AC will actually net you bonuses in our Battle System which is detailed in another post. Please do not feel stressed if you have to drop, we'll still be here for a while!
7. Pet PartnersPet Partners can be considered under the following qualifications:
1. A partner like a Pokemon from a previous series or CR
2. A Digimon partner or a Monster count not exceeding 3
3. A Tiny Mecha of your own devices
4. An Autonomous Robot of their own making ie Metabee
5. Duel Monsters that are partnered to their own Duelists
6. Double-Characters who share a body
7. Actual Literal Children Who Shouldn't Be Separated From Their Parents
Any of these "Pet" Monsters or partners can be considered double-characters, and in the case of Double-or-even-Triple-or-Quad characters (I'm looking at you Yuuya and Yuzu post series), you can apply for a combined character, but you must provide the bullet points for each of these characters in case someone else decides to apply for them separately at any given point in time for the sake of having a +1 Scenario.
8. PowersPowers are not automatically nerfed unless they are the following:
1. Real World Breaking Powers. Nothing that will destroy the Islands outright are allowed here in Alola and will be forcibly nerfed by the Radiant One's power.
2. Weapons of mass destruction will also be removed
3. Guns and Weapons are also dulled to a point of less effectiveness, and safety-nets are placed on them for further uses. In addition, the local Jenny will ensure you will be required to have a license to carry.
4. Your giant robot will be parked.
5. Powers in general are not nerfed, but use them responsibly. Any overuse of powers for crimes and larceny will be handled by the police or in extreme cases, Bewear.
5a. Only in severe cases when the character is simply too much for the game mechanics to handle, and has demonstrated a need for forcible additional nerfing, will the in-game mechanic of Mewtwo be applied to their character who will then capture them in a Master Ball and trap their Powers within the unbreakable sphere. He will only relinquish these powers until either the character is dropped, or has come to fulfill the requirements of the conditions set down by the Gods of the Land.** Note: This can only happen when with player consent and upon request. Please do not deliberately seek this out as a major condition all the time, Mewtwo arriving on the island is a Big Deal.9. Grand TrialsThe Grand Trials will be conducted come into the 2nd month of the storyline, and will be allowed for people who start challenging once they get accustomed to life in Alola. Hala will be the first option, as they can obtain a Z-Ring and a Z-Crystal from him, or any Z-Crystal from a Totem Pokemon depending on what you do over the course of the next few months. Each month, there will be a Totem Pokemon in need, as with the anime sets up, to allow for a sort of mini-event in order to help with the storyline unfolding and leading up to the first year event to prepare for the next Alola League.
Challenging Hala can be submitted by writing a dialogue battle with him and submitting your strategy, considering what you would do in a 2 v 2 battle against his Pokemon, considering the strategies he has done. To consider Hala's tactics, one should refer to his techniques in the anime, in his battle vs Ash Ketchum in Episode 10
Trial and Tribulation and his methods for teaching in Episode 9.
Think of it as a mini-application to get your Z-Ring and Crystal. Upon approval, your character will become worthy to use the Z, and will be able to earn even more Z-Crystals upon challenging different tasks. Just remember, Hala isn't the only way to earn a Z-Ring. More and more ways of opening up the Grand Trial can become apparent. The more you open up and help people, the more ways one person can obtain a Z-Ring in this world.
10. Fated EncountersHow, one might ask, do we get our Pokemon? Well, if you don't already come loaded with a Pokemon Partner or six, then you will be getting a Fated Encounter. Somewhere, in the Islands, there is a Pokemon or Egg waiting for you. The Tapus will be nudging these Pokemon towards you, and putting these Eggs into the hands of people who care to give them to you and help you care for them.
Be creative! Care for these Pokemon, and make up your own Fated Encounter, and show the world that you don't just tag and bag your first Pokemon. Finding family is the key parts of Alola, and your family is next door. Just waiting to be found.
You may choose any Pokemon off the National Dex including the newly announced Galar Pokemon, except Hard Legendaries, such as Zapdos and others. Meltans are fine, we have plenty of those.11. Dropping, Character Missions and HiatusDropping is as simple as an IC decision to return home. No one is returned inadvertently in Fallers, they are all returned after their Ultra Hole is located and their world located on the other end and determined it is safe to return them home. The Ultra Guardians are then asked to escort them back to their world where a beacon is set up for anyone from their world to travel through at any time for future OOC applications from that world, or re-applications on an OOC level.
If a player who has exceeded 6 characters drops a character in this fashion after consulting with the Mod during the Monthly Talk they can be considered
on a mission if they speak to a Mod if they reach a consensus with the Head Mod, if extenuating circumstances apply such as a higher IRL work load, death in the family, sickness and health issues and other major problems that prevent them from achieving Activity Check. Characters like this can be brought back with a grace period provided the players schedule has realigned itself for a total of 3 IRL weeks after the declaration of the
Mission. Please do not
Mission more than twice in two AC periods.
A Hiatus can be undertaken in two ways. Either the player decides to put their characters on Autopilot or they simply return to their homes through the Ultra Holes for a period of time, to deal with simple things to return at a later date with a scheduled return date with the intent to return.
12. Trainer Life and Rotom DexIf a player decides to take the Island Pilgrimage, they will be issued a Rotom Dex. Alternatively, if you possess a item of technology that is strong enough to be wielded as a database for a Rotom to house in, you may find yourself attracted by these curious creatures! Rotom are usually not native to Alola, but recently there have been sightings of them in the area, and Kukui has made use of these by making Rotom Dex. Rotom Dex, the first generation is in possession of Ash Ketchum and is a avid fan of Detective Shows.
Rotom Dexs can be applied for when a player decides to take the Island Pilgrimage and challenge the Trials, clearing all four Trials over the course of the run of the game when they feel ready. Meeting new people, and being introduced to new People. Rotoms also can be captured in the wild as well, and they can be found inhabiting the most curious of objects. Go looking for them!
