Test Drive Meme - January 2020!

Whether you fell through an Ultra Hole or came through an Ultra Hole while chasing some strange creature, you’re now in the sunny islands of Alola. Things might look peaceful, but you might just be accosted by strange men in armor, looking to take you in. Or maybe you’ll run into other Fallers who are more than willing to give you a hand. Normally the islands would be more welcoming. But arriving here, you’re given a guide from one of the teachers from the school. Brock, Misty, May, Gary, or any of the major professors after your encounter with the previous people.
Upon arriving at the Visitor’s Center, the various people willing to give you a hand has diminished a bit as many of them are trying to calm a populace angry that otherworlders are trying to dictate what they should do and how to treat their visitors. You’re still welcome to get your bearings straight here, but it might be just a little empty. It might be a little easier to prove your worth by showing the people you’re one of the good guys.
3) Guzma, head of Team Skull has given a warning to anyone who has decided to cause trouble in the islands: prove your strength. To this end, Team Skull has created a barricade in several of the ports and major parts of the islands, and has flagrantly set up banners declaring their intent.
You want to start trouble? You answer to Team Skull.
4) It seems like not everyone is causing trouble. In fact, Acerola and Cynthia have called many researchers to their side to comb the texts that were left over from the ancient days about the different stories. Some of them are strange, conflicting. But perhaps you might be able to shed some light on the subject. Most curious is an odd journal that Kahuna Nanu had managed to conceal from the interlopers, half torn apart but is written by a man named “C”.
5) Not every hero wears a cape. Some heroes wear a giant R on their chest.
Exiled from their home, Team Rocket is on the run. Looking for them might bring you in good graces for the people who want to see them home safely… but there’s also Team Rainbow Rocket members who are also on the watch for them, with dangerous Pokemon partners. Track them if you dare.
6) Not everything is trouble - wanting to keep a semblance of normalcy, the Kahunas are still running trials, still giving prospective trainers a chance to earn a Z-Ring and a Z-Stone. Flintheart Glomgold dismissed the power of Z in favor of his strange armor; it’s time to prove him wrong and train to get one.
7) Despite everything, despite the danger, the aggression, the frustration of the land, life will go on. And all it takes is one single compassionate reminder. January hosts the Pilgrimage of Compassion when people walk up the slopes of Wela, and offer gifts to the land. To remember that not everyone is without hope. Compassion is hope, and without hope, nothing is forsaken, lost.
Ohana. Family, and hope, is ohana. Ohana means, no one is left behind. Or forgotten. It takes one little thing, and the Kahuna will lead the people on the walk from Akala Port to the top of Wela Shrine in this Pilgrimage.

<s>Mr. Fantastic Super Handsome Strong-As-</s>Steel | Power Rangers Beast Morphers
From the depths of the ocean rises a figure. Kinda looks like a stag beetle? Maybe? Either way, a few people look curiously at him. He raises a finger before leaning his head to the side, water and a Krabby falling out of it.
"Ah, there we go. Do not worry about me as I am perfectly harmless. But, I do believe I'm lost. This is not Crystal Cove, is it?" He looked around, curiously. "Nah, not enough city. Or maybe it's a beach area Nate hadn't taken me to yet."
Break Down The World
"Excuse me, but why are you blocking this place off?"
Steel had been expecting something, but the members of Team Skull had blocked off this road.
"Didn't you get the memo? We're not gonna let some armored hooligans like you push us around!" the Skull member said.
"Me? I just got here! I haven't done anything wrong!" Steel said, confused. "...oh, wait, it's those other guys in the armor."
"You're in armor, too!"
"I'm part robot and part human!"
Divine Research
No, don't ask as to why Steel would be in a library. He barely knows how to fix machinery unless Nate's with him. But, here he is, carrying books around, passing them to random people.
"Hope these help! I'll go see if I can find anymore for you!"
Arrival
Oh no, that's just Betty.
And she lands right in the middle of the ocean. Seems like Bewear is occupied, and the Law of Comedy means that she lands right in Steel's arms.
"OOF! Oh hey, nice catch Steel!" She looks around, bewildered. "Wait, where are we?"

Natsumi Hikari | Kamen Rider Decade/Zi-O/AR Gaim
Considering everything, falling from a great height when she was going out to throw the trash was something Natsumi wasn't used to. But she was nothing but adaptable. She was... oh bugger.
Landing in the strong arms of a big pink bear was odd, but as it placed her on the ground and leaped away like a literal superhuman, she decided not to question it. But being surrounded immediately by troopers in armor, she held up her arms. "Where am I?" she asked.
"You're going to have to come with us, Faller," replied the man, if they could call him as such with the painfully generic tone he was taking and non-committal answer.
"Where's Tsukasa? I'm not going to go anywhere without an answer," said Natsumi.
"We're taking every Faller in," said another man. "You resisting arrest?"
"I'm not resisting anything, but I want to know what I'm being arrested for!" Exclaimed Natsumi.
"Crossing into a world," said another. "Captain, she's resisting."
"Right, get her."
Natsumi had enough as she broke out into a sprint, breaking through the line. "She's escaping!" Shouted one of the men.
"Wrap lines, keep her restrained," ordered the man, as the men tried to fire on her, but suddenly a Pokemon came out of nowhere, slashing at their weapons and knocking the Grass-oriented men backwards with shocking cries.
Natsumi looked behind her, surprised as she took flight as a literal tiny monster, like a bat disoriented the group as she took off into the crowded streets.
Unrest:
Natsumi had gotten the gist of it.
It seemed that this world was under attack from another, or at least leading into one. Someone was causing another world to act aggressively towards another, pressuring one government to another.
Leaning against a tree, a berry landed on her lap as a Woobat dropped a berry onto her lap. "This is for me?" she asked curiously.
"Woo," replied the Woobat.
She smiled. "Thank you, that's sweet."
Splitting the fruit, she handed half to the Woobat who ate it quickly. "You're pretty hungry aren't you? Want to stay with me?"
"Woo, woo!"
"Okay then. Maybe we can find Tsukasa. This might be where he and Daiki got off to."
The Pilgrimage
It seemed that good deeds were leading up to today. Natsumi had found that trying to live here was better off than trying to get home. So waiting for Tsukasa for the time being was better than trying to let him muck up this world.
So holding her gift, she walked along with the others, listening to the singing across the land as she hummed along. "It's a nice song," she said softly. "It reminds me of home."
Arrival
And catching up to Natsumi was... two Alolan Sandslashes? No, an Alolan Sandslash and a talking hedgehog. A talking hedgehog who is running backwards while talking to Natsumi once they catch up.
"Those guys bothering you, too, huh?" he asked, almost nonchalantly.

Re: Arrival
billy cranston | mighty morphin power rangers
Oh, he fell out of the sky. And an overgrown-monster sized bear is carrying him across the ocean. This could be bad. He's gently let down on the shore, only for the officers to approach him. Oh. Why do they have their guns. He instinctively surrenders.
"Hello. I apologize for the intrusion, but it was unintentional. If you'll allow me to explain I would love to return to---"
"Can it, nerd! On the ground!"
...yeah he's just going to drop down and turn himself in.
first steps
Billy is hiding out in the woods, with only a small dog-like creature for company. It seems to say 'Riolu' often, which is interesting. He's taken to feeding it the plants that it seems to like, and he's built a little leafy hut for them. Life on the run is hard, but he's had worse. They're off in the fields gathering more supplies for their camp when the little rascal ducks into the grass.
"Riolu, wait!"
The little guy is really headstrong! He's off butting heads with a caterbillar-like creature, and Billy scoops him up for a scolding.
"You're not just picking fights, are you? Martial arts is about discipline and self-defense, not showing off." Why is Billy having to teach these things? Any one of his friends would be better suited for this particular lesson! But Riolu gently butts his head against Billy's leg, and he sighs and pets it. One step at a time.
down the river
Someone has finally found Billy and given him the actual welcome message, so he's finally out at the lake with his new partner. He has a fishing rod slung over his shoulder, and it's time to look for Water types!
He casts his line, and whatever he hooks is strong! Luckily he's stronger, and after some mighty effort he reels in a...golden Magikarp? He shudders, not understanding the significance of this.
"No thanks. You're going back." Looks like someone still doesn't like fish. Nab that shiny before he sends it away!
metamorphosis
Then, of course, he eventually runs into more armored goons harassing someone---but this time he has the jump on them. Billy ducks away and disappears in a flash of white light, and a hero in blue spandex emerges, twirling a laser blaster around his finger.
"I think this world has had about enough of your bullying! This isn't any way to treat...hey!"
Okay, apparently talking isn't on the menu. He ducks and rolls, balancing the blaster over his arm and firing away. Looks like it's gonna be another one of those days.
metamorphosis
For a while, she had avoided fighting, but her Woobat had made a effort of annoying this particular field commander and his team of Oddishtroopers. With the arrival of the new hero however, she smiled gratefully as she backed up.
"Woobat woo," said Woobat, pushing against her hand.
"He needs help?" asked Natsumi.
"Woo," said Woobat as the field commander ordered his goons to open fire with Seed Bullet Shots on the new guy. "Yeah, I guess you're right. Okay Woobat, Air Cutter!"

Oh hey it's a... Deadpool. Who is like, eating a banana while he's reading a book while a literal Mr. Ryme does squats next to him. "I can't imagine how much I'm a fan of your work," gushed Deadpool as he took another bite of banana. "You know! I just wanna shake your hand, considering my line of work and all and not get it blown off. Considering how many goons I had to pew pew pew on the way here? You've got that good ol boy thing going down with just enough teenage edge to count!"

Zoey | Pokemon
Zoey took a few moments to stretch and work out any kinks in her back. Being brought to the Alola region via a weird combination of an Ultra Wormhole and a Bewear wasn't the way she had expected to travel!
"It was nice to see May again, but who knew she was a guide in the Alola region? Did she take time off from her Coordinator journey?" Zoey asked herself, understanding if that was the case; she may be Top Coordinator, but Zoey knew there was still more for her to learn from other trainers.
Grand Trials
Zoey knew about the Grand Trials prior to arriving, but to hear of someone disregarding their traditions in favor of weird armor? It sounded like something Team Rocket would do! Either way, she would prove herself worthy of a Z-Ring and a Z-Stone.
"If you think you're better than trainers who've earned their Z-Rings and Z-Stones with a piece of sheet metal, give me your best! Ready, Glameow? Use Shadow Claw!"
The Pilgrimage
Zoey had been in Alola for a while, and even though she'd reunited with both Brock and May and even got to meet Misty, part of her still missed Dawn. (Ash as well, even with his unique habits.) Maybe taking a trek with the others and offering a gift would remind Zoey to have hope.
"I'm alright, Glameow." Zoey noted softly to the Cat Pokémon while they walked down the path. "Just remembering that old saying about Ohana.."
Arrival
"Pika?"
"Hey, hey Zoey!" Exclaimed Ash as he ran over to meet her, waving. "It's been ages! Did you just arrive on the plane? Or did you get zapped in by Ultra Hole too?"
Ash looks tired. Like, everything's been real bad lately and he needs a nap. Even Pikachu looks worn down, but Pikachu jumps onto Zoey's shoulder in greeting.

Josuke Higashikata | JoJo's Bizarre Adventure: Diamond is Unbreakable
Josuke had been trying to get down his stairs at home, something that was particularly difficult, considering the amount of bandages on his thigh, when he lost his footing and tripped. Or really he'd stepped down into the Ultra Hole without realizing it, and was pitched forward into it and free-fall before he could stop himself. Even his stand couldn't reach out fast enough to catch anything of use. He was dropping through the sky, toward the water, nothing to break his fall, and even air pressure hurt. He missed the sight of a pink and black blur racing toward his impact point, resigning to curling himself up to try and avoid as much damage as possible from hitting the water like this.
Caught in the arms of a Beware and deposited safely on the beach the pompadoured teen could only stare at the creature that had caught him, massive and pink... with black and white and... why was this kind of thing... just vaguely familiar. He shook his head a bit as the creature just... walked off, like nothing had happened. "Th-thank you?" He said in response, but it seemed too late as it was gone. And he was left on the beach to try and figure out where he was, and how to get back home... he'd just wanted a custard bun from the fridge.
Easing Unrest:
He was still trying to come to terms with where he was and what was happening, but as he came up to the visitors center it seemed like people were not terribly interested in being friendly. He could... kind of understand it, when his home town suddenly became home to people with terrifying powers, it had been an adjustment. Well they hadn't just suddenly arrived in now, it seemed like a lot of the people had been there before, but some seemed to gain those powers suddenly, and still others he suddenly became aware of.
Well... he could take a page out of his best bro's book and prove he was friendly. His best way was with Crazy Diamond, though he didn't want to over use the big guy for stuff he could genuinely do. He wasn't physically as capable as he normally would be, wounds on you thigh, stomach and shoulder tended not to allow you to do much lifting or work, but that didn't stop him from reaching out to help when he saw a pile of boxes about to fall on a person nearby. Crazy Diamond's arm seemed to shimmer into existence around his own, providing extra support for the action, as he held the stack up. "Can someone help get these boxes stacked better?"
Compassion is my middle name:
Josuke was happy to join int he pilgrimage, both because he liked the idea of such a positive thing, and also... because he could actually walk it. His injuries had healed enough to allow him to make the walk with only a little bit of strain on them. In a pouch on his side he had his first pokemon egg, which he was caring for until it hatched, while in his hands was a collection of jewelry made from glass from the shore, and shells, with the line impossibly merged into each piece at the edge, holding together in spite of looking as if the thread went into each piece.
He'd made more than one because he figured there were bound to be people who realized they wanted something else to give, or even people making the walk who missed that it was to leave gifts. So why not have extra ones made so people could have something. He did hope that the homemade necklaces jewelry would suffice. They were made of things he'd found on the beach, so they might seem like re-gifting, but at least the glass and bits of plastic were being cleaned up, that should make for a good impact, right?
COMPASSION........
The girl turns however as she approaches Josuke, and blinks rather slowly as she stares. Something.....something has her attention.......
But What...

Unfortunately, Ryou's pretty notorious for getting in over his head. He had told the people in the visitors' center that he was fine with the boxes on his own. That was... until they were about to fall over. Ryou jumps as he hears the clatter but suddenly there's... someone over him?
"Oh! Nice catch." Ryou quickly holds his arms up to push the boxes way. "My bad. I thought I had them on properly. Guess I shouldn't be too hasty with such heavy boxes."

Ryou Bakura | Yu-Gi-Oh!
"So... I'm in a new world where monsters are real and friendly? That's... that's super neat!" Ryou has been taking this far too casually. Then again, what was one supposed to do when they were warped to another dimension while they were on holidays at home. It beat waiting around at home for a job interview.
"So... what do you do exactly?" Ryou kneels in front of an Alolan Rattata and pokes its cheek. Only for it to try nip him. "Eep!"
=========
Grand Trials
Ryou is... not here to participate. Honestly, he's just here to watch. Armed with a number of snacks and some weird squirming... thing in his pocket, he's sitting down in front of Hala's little match square and chewing away. Pester him?
=========
Compassion
The thing he does take seriously is a pilgrimage. Family is very important to Ryou and the young man walks with the Kahuna from the port. As he does so... he writes. Ryou has a little pen and notebook and he's writing away, a soft smile on his face as he writes to his sister as he always does.
... He's not paying attention to his surroundings though. He's... Probably going to walk the wrong way or bump into your back.
COMPASSION...
In the Bushes.
Rustling. Approaching.
Or...not approaching??
Reira refuses to be bumped into, thanks. That said, Ryou MIGHT bump into a 7'3'' tall corvid, which appears to take that as a sign to try and nuzzle the boy. FRIEND...??

That sure is a very familiar voice! And probably one Ryou'd hoped to never hear again. At least it's coming from behind him this time, instead of from inside his own head?
And there's the Ring-Spirit, standing only a few feet away. Even if Ryou didn't know the voice, there's no way he couldn't recognize his own face - or the fact that the amusement displayed is a bit too malicious for that expression to be his own. The tell-tale horn/batwing hair-things are clearly visible as well. ...The Ring itself is nowhere to be seen, though.
"So why do you have my face? Are we related, or are you another me?"
For what it's worth, these are genuinely-asked questions! He really doesn't remember Ryou at all. ...Admittedly it's still not worth much, but,,.

Washu Hakubi | Tenchi Muyo!
"Huh. So this is where this portal ended up to, eh? Well, at least we don't have to pull Mihoshi out of this one."
Wandering across the beaches, riding on a Kingler, is a certain red-headed super genius, tapping away on... a laptop? A holographic one, tapping away on it with curiosity. After awhile, the Kingler stopped and the girl let out a sigh.
"I told you when I got here, I have no intention on altering anything, so you can go awa-- oh!" She turned around to find some of the Overwatch soldiers aiming their guns at her. "Oh, well, isn't that cute!" her voice raised to a more cutesy one. "Such big tough men trying to capture little ol' Washu!"
"Enough games! On the ground!" one of the men said.
"Even cuter; they think they have the advantage." Washu said, grinning. "Why don't we show them why you don't mess with a genius, hm?"
Divine Research
Research? Well, that's certainly up Washu's alley. Especially since it seems the heroes are in a panic and trying to figure out things. Of course, Washu is more than a little annoyed.
"Augh, this is so slow, people! Didn't anyone bother to digitize everything before all of this?! Don't give me that ancient tradition BS! I've seen more modernization back home!"
Compassion
Washu had only been here for a short while, but she felt compelled to join everyone on the Pilgrimage of Compassion. Mostly because it was quite a show of unity in the face of adversity. The soldiers weren't going to hold this off, no way.
And, honestly, it was actually pretty neat, seeing traditions in action. Maybe, just maybe, she might grow even closer to this new land.
"Such a strange place..."
Arrival - Just want to say that it's amazing to see a Washu!
Asuna Yuuki | Sword Art Online
This... this was not the 25th floor. This was not SAO at all. Or was it? It had to be a trick, right? There was no way that this stupid game could have a beach like this. She grunted as she walked across the beach, oblivious to the people here -- obviously NPCs -- as she still fumed over her loss against Kirito.
What a jerk!
Of course, there were eyes on this angry girl and what she was doing here...
Unrest
There was two things Asuna figured out, reaching the Visitor's Center: this wasn't SAO anymore, but she was still in a game. It still had to be a game, because Pokemon, right? But, it wasn't SAO, which is good.
"All of this still doesn't make sense." Asuna admitted. "The more I hear, the more I'm convinced this is either a bad game or a dream and honestly, I prefer the latter."
Hunt
Well, that's a mission to enjoy - hunt down a group of Trainers who is needed in dealing with the threats going on. Can't be too hard to miss them, especially with the descriptions of them, but there are others after them, too?
"Shh, keep quiet." she said, spotting a group of Team Rainbow Rocket members. "Maybe we can sneak around them..."
Unrest
"-- seems like the populace is worried which isn't a good thing, but the amount of overabundance of energy spikes in the area is at a 0.02% over-saturation which leads to a rise in overnormalization which could lead to a higher percentage in energy flow. A power rise like that, plus the amount of Ultra Energy and the amount of time Mr. Stark might need to get home could possibly create some kind of interspace vacuum which would reverse-jump everyone home but we would need a Arc Reactor the size of the garage to even attempt it and and--!"
"Izuku you're rambling again," chided a voice from inside his glasses the boy wore, making him jump, the voice loud enough for Asuna to hear. "Do you need a sedative? I can administer it from here."
"N-No! That's all right EDITH, I'm fine! Sorry, I'm just trying to figure out why a wormhole led me here..." His expression fell. "Mr. Stark's gone after all, so I didn't want to let him down getting sucked into a wormhole as well... you know?"
Turning towards Asuna, he yelped. "S-sorry! I'm just... talking... outloud... to myself... and my AI glasses...!"

Dark Magician Girl | Yu-Gi-Oh!
"I've heard of getting the drop on someone, but I didn't realize it involved literally dropping." The blond mused to herself as she looked inquisitively at the strange person who was attempting to theoretically apprehend her. Or were they trying to help? Either way Dark Magician Girl was fully capable of preventing her own descent. Possibly much to her would be saviors/captors surprise as soon as she had the mind to she began levitating under her own power.
Unrest
"Hellloooo? Hello? Is anybody in here?" Dark Magician Girl called out as she stepped into the deserted visitor's center. "Something is really peculiar about this place." Unfortunately, at least so far there was no one around to explain well... any of it.
Wildcard
It was strange but she felt an odd sense of kinship with some of the creatures she was meeting. Sure they were not duel spirits like her but they could relate to some of her experiences. It's not like she was stranger to combat herself nor taking orders from someone else. Beyond that, "You're so cute!" with two fists balled under her chin, she squatted close to the ground to get closer to the few pokemon that had gathered in this portion of the island.
Her eyes were tightly closed and a smile was beaming on her face.
Unrest
And wandering into the Visitor’s Center is Nozomi, blinking in surprise at the sight of the girl. “Are you new here?”

Fumina Hoshino | Gundam Build Fighters TRY
Having ducked the troopers, met some of the guides and gotten her bearings, Fumina had decided that the best way to contribute was to look into the local legends. With the help of some of the locals, she had managed to get to Ula'Ula and arrived at the local library. Here, she was pouring over the texts, trying to figure out if there was any connection to the ancient stories that were available that could help them.
Immersed in a story about Mew, she might not notice you coming to meet her until you're practically atop her. Looking up, startled, she smiled sheepishly. "I didn't see you there, hi. Did you need to sit down?"
The Grand Trials
Fumina's Rotom had possessed Winning Gundam, and while that wasn't enough for combat, she also had her Porygon. And yet, she was still training hard. Getting ready for these trials was something, both mentally and physically.
Right now, she was sitting at a desk in the local library in Melemele, working on her Gunpla body for Rotom, as Rotom sat in its Pokedex. "Whatcha doing?" asked Rotom.
"Improving your body," she said, working on the blaster. "I want to improve your output a little. I know Hala is a strong opponent, but he's also given me a chance in this time of strife."
"It feels neat to run around in a new body roto," replied Rotom-dex. "I'm looking forward to it!"
Looking up from her work, she turns to you and asks, "Sorry, but did you see where my file went? I put it down a moment ago..."
Wildcard
Wanna do something else? Come at her!
I’M SO SORRY!
Meeting Fumina was Nanoha, a Mr. Mine pushing her wheelchair. She shook her head as she dismissed Fumina’s concern. “No, no, I was on my way to see another book, actually.”

aerith gainsborough | final fantasy vii
[ What's this? A strange young woman in pink wielding a staff? She surely doesn't look suspicious. There may be creeps advancing on her, but she's not backing down from their small creatures. ]
You sure you want to try this? I was good enough to be in SOLDIER, you know!
[ She bonks two soldiers on the head and runs---but their Pokémon are faster, coming at her with string shots. She goes down with a yelp. ]
pilgrimage of compassion
[ Some time after the chaos has faded, Aerith has acclimated with the group and is happy to join the rest. At first she doesn't seem to have a partner yet, but among the seedlings and fruits in the basket on her arm, a small Floette weaves and bobs.
She smiles and offers a berry to the nearest on the journey. ]
Come on, no giving up! We're nearly there...and the land needs to know its people will protect it. And each other.
How rude!
