Test Drive Meme - December - Merry Christmas and a New Year!
December has arrived! And it's a festive, very festive time for the people of Alola. You'll find that many local businesses are doing well this time of year as there's brilliant lights being strung up, in preparation of people, both tourists and people. The doors are open, the Christmas Spirit is in the air, and Delibirds have arrived to start taking letters to Santa! Mallow in particular has been a chief advocate of getting your letters into Santa, as this is the second Christmas Vacation coming up for the Fallers, and soon you'll be off school for Christmas Break which starts on the 18th.
You'll have lots to do, but soon, there'll be a aura of business as Christmas begins to loom closer and closer, as a sense of urgency starts pushing forward as the Delibirds seem more and more urgent...
A. Arrival
Another wave of Ultra Holes have opened up over the Island, alarms have appeared and the Ultra Guardians as well as Bewear has come into play. This time, the Fallers have been asked to intercept the literally Falling people who are coming out of the holes and brief them and bring them to the Pokemon Center, ie Immigration to get checked in. Wicke is there to answer questions but a few volunteers may be there as well. The experienced Fallers can get you up to speed.
B. The Alola Community Visitors Plaza
A venue usually for tourists, new Fallers are given a chance to see the main tourist area for Alola, in order to orient and familiarize themselves with the nature of Alola and Pokemon in general. A far cry from the disorganized mob that was originally there, this time, there are people set up in the stands, ready to receive tourists and Fallers alike. Pamphlets, interviews with locals and tour guides, Ride Pokemon to take you around the island, and various other places are available. Please look around, the choice is yours. This month it is decorated for the Festival of Lights, aka Christmas.
C. The Hau’oli City Markets
This is where the marketplace stands, full of fresh fruit and food. Those who are hungry can be treated to a delicious taste of Alola. Not once, not twice, but more times than they can imagine. Your coin is good here, even if it’s alien in nature. Even if you don’t have coin, you’ll be fine. Ohana. No one is left behind or forgotten. We’re not about to let people go hungry in this world. Nature’s bounty is for everyone, humans and Pokemon alike. There’s no need to steal, just ask the marketplace for some food if you are very hungry. Even if you’re shy, Miss Anela will offer you a snack. There's a lot of holiday treats.
D. Job Board
Odd Jobs have been posted here right now, thanks to the efforts of the people who have decided to help the Fallers out, and it’s also a help wanted board for those who want to earn some coin in the middle of the week before the beginning of the school year. Tasks such as bucking crates of Juice off a truck, to doing some simple paperwork in an office for a few days, and even tending Pokemon in a farm on Akala Island. The choice is yours. Get out and explore. There's a lot of decorating jobs right now.
E. Exploring the entire island chain
If you wish to explore Melemele, it is a big island, and there is plenty to see. There are Forests, Honey Fields, Hot Springs, Beaches, and many other places. Melemele boasts one of the biggest cities Hau’oli City, and is the capital of Alola. Here, up at the top of a large plateau is the challenge area where Hala offers the Grand Trial. The caves are full of Pokemon, and your Pokemon are eager to prove themselves in a Trial. There's plenty to see now, with Akala island, Ula'ula Island and Poni Islands also opened up for tourism.
F. Grand Trials
The Four Kahuna are accepting challengers once more. Those who wish to participate in the sacred trials are allowed to participate in the Grand Trials once more, to earn the right of the Z. With the goals in mind, you may undertake a Trial to earn a Z-Crystal first, and then take on a Grand Trial for a Z-Ring and a Z-Crystal. The choice is yours which to tackle first.
G. Festival of Lights
There's actually two Festival of Lights this time around! The Boat Festival where there will be several boats on the water displaying gorgeous lights which shine on the water, and the festival where the land shines with twinkling lights on the seventh. The first is on the 13th. There seems to be a wonderful time coming up.
H. Melemele General Hospital
Even Angela is working extra hard to make sure everyone's prepared for the winter, and that makes time for checkups, and other such things. If you've got the sniffles, this one is for you. But also, come chat with Angela, and meet some of the more colorful visitors from Overwatch Earth.
I. Aether Labs
Come review the brand new information that makes the Ultra Guardians go on the offensive. Which means, Aether Labs is open to the science community! The scientific community heads can now access the labs, and the resources within. Under the guidance of Wicke, Faba and, Burnet, you're allowed access to Aether's resources to build and invent and upgrade and repair your own equipment.
J. Alolan Steel Guitar Festival
Come listen to the native music of the people, leading into the city. You can listen, try out one of the steel guitars, dance, the choice is yours! Your world is yours to explore!
K. Lighting of the Banyan Tree
In the middle of the city there's a massive tree being erected. This is the Banyan Tree, and on the seventh during the Festival of Lights, it will be lit up! Come check it out!

Looking a bit abashed by that claim it was one Joey couldn't deny. He was starving which likely wasn't doing much for his mood either. I mean sure- it didn't take much to set him off anyway but an empty belly didn't help. "20 years?!" Legitimately surprised by that. ".. but you look almost exactly the same!" And furthermore, "I don't know what's going on here but do I look 36 to you? It hasn't been no stinking 20 years."
Inching closer, he still.... really wanted to eat something. So.. looking aside, he held out his palm and waited until he could feel the weight of the apple being dropped into it. Or.. you know... he awaited being struck. Either or.

"And honestly, with the Ultra Holes taking people from different time periods, I'm sure the great Domino Quake hasn't happened yet, otherwise the place would have been under twenty feet of shattered concrete by now. Look, there's a lot to unpack but it really has been 20 years for me, even if it hasn't been 20 for you. You're still running around with Yugi and the others right? I just got here from Neo Domino visiting friends in Satellite and it's a long story."
When Joey got close, he held the apple out and dropped it into his hands. "Eat. Miss Anela's the boss in these parts. You get hungry, or need work, ask her. Seto Kaiba works for her, and stays with her. She'll hook you up if you ever get hungry or short on cash."
He raised an eyebrow. "Man you're even fresh off the Ultra Hole too huh? You haven't even gotten your first Pokemon yet either. Mine is just reporting to Jenny at the moment."

"Come again?" The quake naturally throwing him off. Japan was always in danger of seismic disasters but there hadn't been any incidents that could have been considered 'great' yet. No. Not in Joey's lifetime. "Well- yeah. I just left Yugi and da others when I ended up here." Not that it was any of this guy's business mind yo. "Now you're going on about Neo Domino and satellites and ... I don't even have a clue what all dis means." This was either the biggest ruse ever or indicative of a dark future to come. "If you're really from the future, should you be telling me all this? Won't it alter da timeline or something?" Didn't Trudge watch enough scifi to know this?
Snatching the apple towards him, he still examined it closely before committing to consuming it. It looked safe. No razorblades sticking out of it. "........... you know dat name doesn't really make it any better." Seems like Kaiba's name was on everyone's lips here. That wasn't much different than home. "Well I'm both of dhose tings right now." Raising the apple to his lips and taking a bite.
"What are deeze holes everyone keeps talking about?" Shaking his head at that. "No I don't have a Pokemon... I just got my capsule monsters which don't seem ta work here."
I haven't ygoed in ages but then people started apping them to the game XD
"Hey man, Kaiba's a good guy. Even if he pulled up shop from Neo Domino years ago, he's kept the branch going." said Trudge. "It's been a tough round for everyone, even for us in Security but that's a long talk which I don't got time for for now."
"Ah geez, well, you know when you fell out of the sky? That was an Ultra Hole. A rift in time and space and it pulled you through. Looks like you're one of the inadvertent people who dropped in suddenly from another time." Trudge sighed a little. "Look, even if Bewear caught you and brought you down, you should probably get the basics. C'mon, I'll bring you to the Visitors Center and we'll get you caught up on what's going on in this world. We might find you a Pokemon who you might like too on the way there."

"Look- eh... I know he's not all bad but I don't really feel like shouting any praises for him right now. Especially if there's the possibility dat he could overhear it. His ego is big enough without us fueling it." Just saying. "It sounds like it has been........ it must have been pretty bad for Kaiba to abandon the location himself...". Feeling an odd sense of dread in the pit of his stomach. He didn't like to think of his hometown in shambles.
".... Never gonna get used ta dat name." Failing to see what was so ultra about it. "Is dhere any other kind dan inadvertent?" He's not sure who would sign up willingly to plunge to their death. "You're gonna get as sick of these questions as I am at asking em.. but.. what's a bewear?" Either he hadn't been paying attention (highly likely) or he'd not been told before. "Shoot..... what have I got ta lose." Finishing off the apple, he was prepared to put aside old differences and go to this visitor's center.

"Hey, he had to pull up shop. The place got pretty bad, and KC Corp had to set up roots in another town just to fuel the reconstruction. Place was a shattered wreck when I literally crawled out of the ruins of my apartment." said Trudge. "It sounds worse than it was but I'll tell you about it more in detail later."
"Well, an Ultra Hole's currently one way. I've heard from Jenny, the local head officer that they're trying to track down a Legendary Pokemon that can go both ways, but so far, Solgaleo has only shown itself to Champion Ash recently." Trudge shrugged. "Your guess is as good as mine where a huge white and gold lion hides itself. Other than that, we've got some big brain people working on how to poke a hole in the opposite direction. At least we've stopped managing to dump every probe into a volcano loaded with Peanut Butter."

"I dunno.... dat sounds plenty bad already." ... And so far Kaiba sounded like the only one of the original Domino set that had given a damn about the quake. The natural fears started setting in that maybe he never amounted to anything, and remained the loser a lot of naysayers took him to be. Conversely, he could have gone pro duelist and turned his back on his roots. Neither prospect was appealing. Worse yet, maybe he had already died in 20 years. ".... I'm sorry you had to go through something like dat." Sure Trudge might have been a bully and a jerk but no one deserved to have their home collapse all around them.
"So some of deeze monsters have special abilities to travel through time and space..?" That sounded pretty powerful to him. "Ha really. Something of that size shouldn't be able to mask it's location." Noting the name of this champion in case he ever came up again. "Though... if he can cruise other dimensions..... maybe it's not all that difficult to pull off after all." That last part threw him as he blinked a couple of times. "Run dat by me again? What's dis about probes and peanut butter volcanoes?"

Trudge smirked. "They kept losing peanut butter jars into a volcano when sending probes through. Turns out, according to what I know, it was coating a shrine that was sacred to a bunch of Ultra Beasts. That's why it was all riled up."
