Late October/Early November Test Drive Meme!

It's late October. After the Team Rainbow Rocket attack, life has slowly come back to normal. The people have relaxed for the most part, but there's a sense of unease knowing that Alola was under attack from Team Rainbow Rocket. But the people of Alola are grateful for the Ultra Guardians and have redoubled their efforts to accept the Fallers and help them with whatever there needs to be. To this end, a new doctor has been instated in Alola General, the first to have come willingly through the Ultra Holes. A relief worker from another Earth named Dr. Angela Mercy. She'll take care of your needs.

Oh also, Acerola has begun campaigning for the local spooky day of Halloween, as the Ghost Pokemon have seemingly multiplied on Alola! With more and more spirits, Greedy Rapooh, her main Pokemon, has started showing up everywhere on the island to make a fuss along with a ton of Ghost Pokemon to make mischief! Still, life goes on in Alola, and on the 31st, the island will be decorated for treats, and a small mini-festival for the day as people celebrate the ghost pokemon.

A. Arrival

Another wave of Ultra Holes have opened up over the Island, alarms have appeared and the Ultra Guardians as well as Bewear has come into play. This time, the Fallers have been asked to intercept the literally Falling people who are coming out of the holes and brief them and bring them to the Pokemon Center, ie Immigration to get checked in. Wicke is there to answer questions but a few volunteers may be there as well. The experienced Fallers can get you up to speed.

B. The Alola Community Visitors Plaza

A venue usually for tourists, new Fallers are given a chance to see the main tourist area for Alola, in order to orient and familiarize themselves with the nature of Alola and Pokemon in general. A far cry from the disorganized mob that was originally there, this time, there are people set up in the stands, ready to receive tourists and Fallers alike. Pamphlets, interviews with locals and tour guides, Ride Pokemon to take you around the island, and various other places are available. Please look around, the choice is yours. For the end of the month, it is now decorated for Halloween.

C. The Hau’oli City Markets

This is where the marketplace stands, full of fresh fruit and food. Those who are hungry can be treated to a delicious taste of Alola. Not once, not twice, but more times than they can imagine. Your coin is good here, even if it’s alien in nature. Even if you don’t have coin, you’ll be fine. Ohana. No one is left behind or forgotten. We’re not about to let people go hungry in this world. Nature’s bounty is for everyone, humans and Pokemon alike. There’s no need to steal, just ask the marketplace for some food if you are very hungry. Even if you’re shy, Miss Anela will offer you a snack. This time however, it is now serving Halloween themed treats and pumpkin treats as well.

D. Job Board

Odd Jobs have been posted here right now, thanks to the efforts of the people who have decided to help the Fallers out, and it’s also a help wanted board for those who want to earn some coin in the middle of the week before the beginning of the school year. Tasks such as bucking crates of Juice off a truck, to doing some simple paperwork in an office for a few days, and even tending Pokemon in a farm on Akala Island. The choice is yours. Get out and explore. There's also now halloween themed decorating jobs and pumpkin harvesting related things.

E. Exploring Melemele

If you wish to explore Melemele, it is a big island, and there is plenty to see. There are Forests, Honey Fields, Hot Springs, Beaches, and many other places. Melemele boasts one of the biggest cities Hau’oli City, and is the capital of Alola. Here, up at the top of a large plateau is the challenge area where Hala offers the Grand Trial. The caves are full of Pokemon, and your Pokemon are eager to prove themselves in a Trial. You can also check out Ula'ula's Ghost Town if you want, the ferry is open this time, and Acerola will show you around her library.

F. Grand Trials

The Four Kahuna are accepting challengers once more. Those who wish to participate in the sacred trials are allowed to participate in the Grand Trials once more, to earn the right of the Z. With the goals in mind, you may undertake a Trial to earn a Z-Crystal first, and then take on a Grand Trial for a Z-Ring and a Z-Crystal. The choice is yours which to tackle first.

G. Acerola's Library/The Ghost Town

Home of Acerola's Library, Greedy Rapooh's tombstone and graveyard and the Grand Trial of Ula'ula, this spooky little town is a historical site and a place of history. You can find amazing things in this place, and it connects to the Desert. Yes, a literal desert where you can travel to an Oasis and meet the Tapu of the location. There's also a fantasticly high amount of Alolan Meowth here as well. It's a Dark Type paradise.

H. Melemele General Hospital

After the battle and maybe just for a checkup, all Fallers and everyone else would be introduced to a new unique Doctor that has arrived. Apparently, on her side, these Ultra Holes have been opening up on a regular basis where she has been stationed, so she was sent through. Deciding her best option was to set up as a Doctor, Dr. Angela Mercy is now the Fallers Primary Physician. While her healing is both traditional and literally near-magical nanotech healing, and she can revive you or your Pokemon from a near-KO state, she prefers not to be on the front lines unless truly required. But as a member of the relief team from another Earth, she vows to help everyone with their troubles. You can talk to Angela any time you need, even just for a visit.

I. Aether Labs

Now that there's new critical data brought in by Courtney's spies into Team Rainbow Rocket, the Ultra Guardians can go on the offensive. Which means, Aether Labs is open to the science community! The scientific community heads can now access the labs, and the resources within. Under the guidance of Wicke, Faba and, Burnet, you're allowed access to Aether's resources to build and invent and upgrade and repair your own equipment.

"Yeah, I'll unpack that trauma later like we did for Miles, but honestly if there's anyone who understands? It's we Spiders." said Peni sympathetically. "Yeah, it's time for breakfast. I helped. I got this recipe from Peter B and it's Aunt May's Wheatcakes."

Peni leaned in and whispered conspiratorially. "Did you know Dad-Tony ate like three of those before I had to drag him away from the skillet? He couldn't resist them. Mom-Jenny tried to eat five."

It's much too early for this. He glances over at Shelob who's close by as always, hanging from her webs on the ceiling. She doesn't seem to understand this anymore than he does. Part of him feels immediately defensive at her mention of unpacking trauma. That's what she thinks! He's going to go back to ignoring that particular bit of trauma and never talk about it again, thanks.

"That's uh... May's not really... or at least my Aunt May isn't someone I'd swap recipes with." Or maybe, as long as she didn't cook it, it probably wasn't burnt. Sorry Aunt May, he loves you.

"Can you tell Mr Stark that I'm staying home today, my head hurts."

"He already knows, but he wants you to come on downstairs and at least have breakfast before sleeping the rest of the day away before the Wheatcakes get cold or he'll eat them all." said Peni.

"After that you can doze the whole day. I'll get your homework from the school. I'm already enrolled. I was going to hack into the school when I got here but Mom-Jenny told me there was no need for that since I basically got retrieved the moment I arrived. Gotta say, their Bewear Retrieval System is top notch. SP//DR didn't even get a dent falling from 1000 feet with nowhere to land but solid ocean."

Peter would appreciate what she's saying a lot more if he wasn't so wrecked from the night before. Also, how could Tony already know he wasn't going to school today? He just made the decision to avoid breakfast. Is he that predictable? He kind of wants to go to school anyway now, just to be spiteful. However, the idea of having to talk to anyone or have one more bad thing happen is enough to kill the thought quite effectively.

"What if I'm not hungry?" He asks, maybe a little louder due to his growling stomach. "Am I allowed to skip breakfast?"

Peni gives him a look with her big literal anime eyes.

"Dude," she says in the most 90s tone she could muster from an adorable 2D Japanese American. "Spider-metabolism? Do you see me shoving candy in my mouth right now?"

To emphasize this point, she digs a handful of assorted candy from her pocket and shoves it into her mouth, chewing. "I can practically hear your stomach grinding rocks from here! Stop being silly and go eat something, and go to bed afterwards. You'll sleep better. And then set your alarm for Elevenses."

Peter wants to sigh loudly but she's... well, she's right. Spider metabolism was a real thing and he's definitely hungry. He's practically always hungry. With a grumble, he pulls the blanket back so he can sit up.

"You forgot second breakfast." He points out, needing to make sure she knew the reference wasn't lost on him. Of course, how could it be with having named his Spinarak Shelob?

Shelob lets herself down from where she's hanging from the ceiling and finally scuttles over to Peni now that Peter's finally decided to get up. "Alright, fine. I'll do breakfast."

"Why would I skip second breakfast?" chirped Peni, leaping off his bed and skipping towards the door.

"C'mon down, there's also fresh applesauce and hot chocolate too when you're ready."

He's in a dark mood and feels like none of that should sound as good as it does. He shakes his head again and scratches his head through his messy hair. If he's going back to bed, there's no need to comb it.

He follows her out of his room-soon to be their room, if he's reading this right, and down to breakfast, Shelob trailing after him. He pauses a second. Wait. If he has to share a room, she'll tell on him for not sleeping!

Peni hummed a little. She could tell from her Spider-sense that Peter felt off. Like, he was unsteady at best. Spider-people knew when their others were not feeling great. They just KNEW.

"You know, balling it up inside will hurt, but we're here for you." said Peni over her shoulder. "But you'll feel infinitely better with some food in your stomach. Jenny went to work and Tony's in the garage with SP//DR. C'mon, I kept the food warm in the oven."

Going to the oven, she turned off the low oven and pulled out a warming plate stacked high with Wheatcakes. It smelled incredibly good, a recipe that would remind Peter of Ben Parker, stirring up old nostalgia of younger days. "Parker Family Recipe. Even my dad made these." Said Peni, placing three onto his plate and a pat of butter with syrup next to his plate warmed in the same low oven. "Eat up."

Peter thinks not for the first time, that he really needs to find someway to get more sleep. But if he tells someone that he's having trouble sleeping at night they might ask why and no thanks. He told May and Ben. He's never telling another person.

He lets out a yawn and follows her down to the kitchen and stops dead as he smells those wheatcakes. They do remind him of Ben. Back when Ben used to be the one that would cook dinner and suddenly he feels like he needs a minute.

"Guess that's a universal constant too." Peter says, a ghost of a smile on his face as he's finally starting to look forward to breakfast.

"Yeah, I really like wheatcakes. Maybe it's just a Parker thing just to really enjoy them a lot. But then, no one seems to dislike them ever." said Peni, as she fixed herself a plate as well and sat down, feet swinging.

"Try it, I added a little maple syrup to the mix. That's how dad served it to me."
