Late October/Early November Test Drive Meme!

It's late October. After the Team Rainbow Rocket attack, life has slowly come back to normal. The people have relaxed for the most part, but there's a sense of unease knowing that Alola was under attack from Team Rainbow Rocket. But the people of Alola are grateful for the Ultra Guardians and have redoubled their efforts to accept the Fallers and help them with whatever there needs to be. To this end, a new doctor has been instated in Alola General, the first to have come willingly through the Ultra Holes. A relief worker from another Earth named Dr. Angela Mercy. She'll take care of your needs.

Oh also, Acerola has begun campaigning for the local spooky day of Halloween, as the Ghost Pokemon have seemingly multiplied on Alola! With more and more spirits, Greedy Rapooh, her main Pokemon, has started showing up everywhere on the island to make a fuss along with a ton of Ghost Pokemon to make mischief! Still, life goes on in Alola, and on the 31st, the island will be decorated for treats, and a small mini-festival for the day as people celebrate the ghost pokemon.

A. Arrival

Another wave of Ultra Holes have opened up over the Island, alarms have appeared and the Ultra Guardians as well as Bewear has come into play. This time, the Fallers have been asked to intercept the literally Falling people who are coming out of the holes and brief them and bring them to the Pokemon Center, ie Immigration to get checked in. Wicke is there to answer questions but a few volunteers may be there as well. The experienced Fallers can get you up to speed.

B. The Alola Community Visitors Plaza

A venue usually for tourists, new Fallers are given a chance to see the main tourist area for Alola, in order to orient and familiarize themselves with the nature of Alola and Pokemon in general. A far cry from the disorganized mob that was originally there, this time, there are people set up in the stands, ready to receive tourists and Fallers alike. Pamphlets, interviews with locals and tour guides, Ride Pokemon to take you around the island, and various other places are available. Please look around, the choice is yours. For the end of the month, it is now decorated for Halloween.

C. The Hau’oli City Markets

This is where the marketplace stands, full of fresh fruit and food. Those who are hungry can be treated to a delicious taste of Alola. Not once, not twice, but more times than they can imagine. Your coin is good here, even if it’s alien in nature. Even if you don’t have coin, you’ll be fine. Ohana. No one is left behind or forgotten. We’re not about to let people go hungry in this world. Nature’s bounty is for everyone, humans and Pokemon alike. There’s no need to steal, just ask the marketplace for some food if you are very hungry. Even if you’re shy, Miss Anela will offer you a snack. This time however, it is now serving Halloween themed treats and pumpkin treats as well.

D. Job Board

Odd Jobs have been posted here right now, thanks to the efforts of the people who have decided to help the Fallers out, and it’s also a help wanted board for those who want to earn some coin in the middle of the week before the beginning of the school year. Tasks such as bucking crates of Juice off a truck, to doing some simple paperwork in an office for a few days, and even tending Pokemon in a farm on Akala Island. The choice is yours. Get out and explore. There's also now halloween themed decorating jobs and pumpkin harvesting related things.

E. Exploring Melemele

If you wish to explore Melemele, it is a big island, and there is plenty to see. There are Forests, Honey Fields, Hot Springs, Beaches, and many other places. Melemele boasts one of the biggest cities Hau’oli City, and is the capital of Alola. Here, up at the top of a large plateau is the challenge area where Hala offers the Grand Trial. The caves are full of Pokemon, and your Pokemon are eager to prove themselves in a Trial. You can also check out Ula'ula's Ghost Town if you want, the ferry is open this time, and Acerola will show you around her library.

F. Grand Trials

The Four Kahuna are accepting challengers once more. Those who wish to participate in the sacred trials are allowed to participate in the Grand Trials once more, to earn the right of the Z. With the goals in mind, you may undertake a Trial to earn a Z-Crystal first, and then take on a Grand Trial for a Z-Ring and a Z-Crystal. The choice is yours which to tackle first.

G. Acerola's Library/The Ghost Town

Home of Acerola's Library, Greedy Rapooh's tombstone and graveyard and the Grand Trial of Ula'ula, this spooky little town is a historical site and a place of history. You can find amazing things in this place, and it connects to the Desert. Yes, a literal desert where you can travel to an Oasis and meet the Tapu of the location. There's also a fantasticly high amount of Alolan Meowth here as well. It's a Dark Type paradise.

H. Melemele General Hospital

After the battle and maybe just for a checkup, all Fallers and everyone else would be introduced to a new unique Doctor that has arrived. Apparently, on her side, these Ultra Holes have been opening up on a regular basis where she has been stationed, so she was sent through. Deciding her best option was to set up as a Doctor, Dr. Angela Mercy is now the Fallers Primary Physician. While her healing is both traditional and literally near-magical nanotech healing, and she can revive you or your Pokemon from a near-KO state, she prefers not to be on the front lines unless truly required. But as a member of the relief team from another Earth, she vows to help everyone with their troubles. You can talk to Angela any time you need, even just for a visit.

I. Aether Labs

Now that there's new critical data brought in by Courtney's spies into Team Rainbow Rocket, the Ultra Guardians can go on the offensive. Which means, Aether Labs is open to the science community! The scientific community heads can now access the labs, and the resources within. Under the guidance of Wicke, Faba and, Burnet, you're allowed access to Aether's resources to build and invent and upgrade and repair your own equipment.

Phym peeks out from behind Alice, crumbs around her mouth.

"Thank you very much!"

Alice slings her Arc over one shoulder and ruffles Phym's hair with her free hand before looking at Guzma.

"I have a mountain of questions, but first, is there somewhere safe to stash these where they won't eat anyone?"

...yes, she is in fact indicating the weapons they're carrying.

Guzma sighed. "Lemme make a call." He said, pulling out his Phone and dialing a number. "Yo, it's me, Guzma. Yeah, you bum, get your friends down here, we need a ride to the Aether Foundation. Kay. Pick up for three. Yeah, it's a new Faller and her kid. Uh huh. Got it. No I didn't fight em, you fu, er, whatever. Shut up Kukui."

Hanging up, he said, "Kukui will send a helicopter here shortly from the Aether Foundation. We'll take it there, and they've got a vault where we can lock those edgy weapons up real nice and tight behind several forcefields and a thick steel wall if you wanna. They'll be here in like, 15 minutes. In the meantime, have a seat, enjoy the sunshine..." He looked over his shoulder. "Have another cookie. Just don't eat everything ya dig?"

Alice nods to herself, making a decision.

"Alright."

With that, she sits down, Phym plopping down into her lap.

Soon the helicopter arrives, touching down a few feet away. It's a large cargo one, since Guzma told them they were moving sensitive cargo as Kukui comes out to meet them with a few workers from Aether. "Hello," he said. "Guzma."

"Sup," said Guzma. "Alice, this dork is Kukui. Kukui, Alice and Phym. Don't touch their weapons brah."

"Right." said Kukui, holding out his hand to shake Alice's for a moment as workers moved two large steel security containers and opened them. "We've prepared security containers for your weapons if you wish to place them in there yourself, and we'll lock them in. And we'll give you a tour of the Aether Foundation, and show you where we'll lock them away, so they won't hurt anyone. Guzma, you coming?"

"Che, may as well. Ain't nothing better to do. OI," Guzma called out to Rapp who came around the corner. "Hold the fort. Sell some cookies."

"Eat anyone." Alice corrects Kukui.

Once the Arcs have been placed in the security containers, the pair just sort of converge on Guzma. A tiny hand slips into his as Phym beams up at him, Alice smiling as well as she takes Phym's other hand.

"Er, yes, eat anyone," said Kukui.

Guzma sputtered for a moment as Kukui laughed at the sight. "Hey shut up!" Exclaimed Guzma hotly, but he didn't let go of Phym's hand. "You stupid f... grrrr. C'mon let's just get into the copter."

The ride to the Aether Foundation was a short one, and as they landed, Guzma gestured to the building. "Get yer first glance at the building before we head in and try not to gawp."

Inside the building was a huge walkway overlooking a fantastic inside care area full of Pokemon, where men and women in white uniforms cared for creatures of all kinds of various adorable levels.

Alice looks visibly uneasy as she sees the Pokemon and glances down at Phym, who tilts her head to the side consideringly before shaking her head 'no', upon which Alice relaxes a little.

"So...what are those things, anyway?"

"Pokemon, short for Pocket Monsters. They're the indigenous life of this planet who we co-exist with," said Kukui. "People care for them, live side by side. Here in Alola, they're family members as well. As Fallers, you'll probably receive one or two of them, maybe even up to six of them to care for while here."

"Don't bore them with details, Kukui," put in Guzma as he held up his PokeBall. "Basically, we live, train and battle with them. Aether here, rescues and raises hurt and injured and abandoned Pokemon and returns them to the wild once they're strong enough to live on their own once more, or in herds. Wanna see mine before we head down to the vault?"

Hm. Alice lightly brushes Phym's bangs away from her face, her fingertips grazing against the jet-black horn everybody has been pointedly ignoring. There's a moment of silent communion between them before they nod in perfect sync.

Guzma grinned before tossing the ball into the air. "Get out here, Liepard!"

The ball split open, as a light burst free from it, and from it, a medium sized purple and orange cat appeared with a growl. And then it started to lick its paw, grooming itself. "What do you think?" said Guzma as Liepard regarded Phym and Alice before meowing a little.

"Been a while since I've seen you use anything except a bug Pokemon, Guzma." said Kukui and Guzma made a "mmph," noise. "I thought you had a theme?"

"I can branch out if I wanna!" Retorted Guzma as Liepard sniffed Phym and meowed curiously before offering a paw in greeting.

Phym smiles and meows right back at Liepard, taking the kitty's paw in her own. Alice hides a smile behind her hand as she watches her little girl be adorable.

"We should get her a cat of her own," said Kukui. "There's a few new cat Pokemon here at the Foundation."

"It's her decision, but that's probably a good idea." said Guzma. "We'll hit up the sanctuary later but... You can play with Liepard more Phym. Want to go down with Kukui to the sanctuary and meet up with Wicke while Alice and I go to the vaults?"

"It's okay, Wicke is just like your mom," said Kukui. "She's the nicest lady in the world. She loves Pokemon and would love to show you all of the cute Pokemon here. Ask your mother."

Phym stares up at Alice with wide eyes.

"Mommy?"

There's a pause as Alice weighs the pros and cons before nodding and giving Phym some instructions.

"You can go, but remember the rules."

The two of them begin reciting the rules in unison with what is clearly long practice.

"Tell them before playing hide-and-seek, don't break into the animal's homes, and if you want to eat something, ask permission first."

Alice looks over at Kukui.

"That last one's the most important. Don't hand her anything you want back in one piece, because she considers that permission."

"Got it." said Kukui, committing the rules to memory. "Got that, Guzma?"

"Yeah, yeah, I got it. Go ahead, Kukui, Phym. You'll enjoy it there. Tell Wicke those rules too man."

"Right. You two take care."

Guzma gestured to the elevator which would take them deeper into the island facility, and at the security labs at the very bottom where the Aether people were in the process of activating a high security vault. "Been a damn long time since I've been in here," said Guzma. "Not since I was with Old Man Hala."

At the head was Lusamine, who looked up at their arrival. "Ah, hello. You must be Alice. Welcome. I'm Lusamine, the head of the Aether Foundation. I must say this is quite a unique situation we're in, but I'm glad to help." She offered a hand in greeting.

Alice takes the proffered hand and shakes it.

"Yes, I'm Alice Pennywort. Nice to meet you, and my thanks for providing a way to store our Arcs."

"Believe me, the challenge is ours." said Lusamine, shaking firmly before turning towards the Arcs which were being loaded into the vaults and the vault shut, several layers of security being set up before it clicked green and shut. "When Kukui told us that we had dangerous weapons to store, I immediately decided to reopen the hazardous materials vault. Aether has a radioactive vault which you see here. These are lead shielded vaults which are over 3 feet thick of pure lead, steel and concrete. It should hold your Arcs."

"And, as an added bonus, I've been tinkering with security," chimed in a voice from behind the group as Tony rolled into view in his floating wheelchair. "Did you know there's an excellent latte machine down here? Tony Stark, hi."

"Tony's a Faller just like you, Alice," said Lusamine as Guzma regarded the man in the wheelchair. "He's a superhero from another world."

"Usually. A robot put me through pavement in a fight, so I'm taking some time in a chair for a few weeks."

"Fun. Give me a ride later," snorted Guzma. "I'm sure this'll hold your swag, Alice. In any case, you're invited back to my place. I'll call Plumeria and get a place sorted out at the Shady House. No big."

Blink blink.

"Thank you."

A pause to consider.

"Um. I'd just like to stress that containing the Arcs is for the your safety, not to keep them safe. Like, I know I said I was worried about them eating people, but there's also a pretty good chance they could mutate anyone that touches them into an immortal, man-eating monster?"

"That's Valid," said Tony, giving the vault a look. "Considering the things my world has? Having weapons like that shoved in there, I feel way more comfortable with them being in the hazardous vault."

"Admittedly? Same here." said Lusamine. "Guzma, thank you for all your help. We'll send some more funding to Team Skull after this."

"Send it to Plumeria's credit account. I ain't good with the finances." said Guzma. "Anything else?"

"We'd like to get Alice and Phym's paperwork sorted before you head out, so that they've got their Fallers status in, just so we're aware they're on the island. And then they should be set." said Lusamine. "Tony?"

"Any rundown of your abilities would be great, so we're not shooting in the dark," said Tony. "Never hurts to check in with Angie at the hospital so we can treat you later on if you ever get sick. Guzma, give them a tour of the main island before you start dressing them in black and rapping?"

"Fine," grumbled Guzma. "Yo, you hear that? We'll do all of that before we head on out to Ula'ula for the evening. Gotta get your rooms settled in anyhow. Shady House gotta get cleaned up for two ladies after all."
