August/September Test Drive!




The end of Summer is upon us in Alola, even though the warm days haven’t left our island shores as the tourist season is beginning to wind down, and the locals are preparing to settle into the more relaxed routines they’re more commonly used to. Behind the scenes, the Aether Foundation works tirelessly to uncover the method to send the Fallers back home, and yet there’s a sense of need and hurried anticipation as the new School Year is upon everyone.


A. Arrival

Another wave of Ultra Holes have opened up over the Island, alarms have appeared and the Ultra Guardians as well as Bewear has come into play. This time, the Fallers have been asked to intercept the literally Falling people who are coming out of the holes and brief them and bring them to the Pokemon Center, ie Immigration to get checked in. Wicke is there to answer questions but a few volunteers may be there as well. The experienced Fallers can get you up to speed.


B. The Alola Community Visitors Plaza

A venue usually for tourists, new Fallers are given a chance to see the main tourist area for Alola, in order to orient and familiarize themselves with the nature of Alola and Pokemon in general. A far cry from the disorganized mob that was originally there, this time, there are people set up in the stands, ready to receive tourists and Fallers alike. Pamphlets, interviews with locals and tour guides, Ride Pokemon to take you around the island, and various other places are available. Please look around, the choice is yours.


C. The Hau’oli City Markets

This is where the marketplace stands, full of fresh fruit and food. Those who are hungry can be treated to a delicious taste of Alola. Not once, not twice, but more times than they can imagine. Your coin is good here, even if it’s alien in nature. Even if you don’t have coin, you’ll be fine. Ohana. No one is left behind or forgotten. We’re not about to let people go hungry in this world. Nature’s bounty is for everyone, humans and Pokemon alike. There’s no need to steal, just ask the marketplace for some food if you are very hungry. Even if you’re shy, Miss Anela will offer you a snack.


D. Job Board

Odd Jobs have been posted here right now, thanks to the efforts of the people who have decided to help the Fallers out, and it’s also a help wanted board for those who want to earn some coin in the middle of the week before the beginning of the school year. Tasks such as bucking crates of Juice off a truck, to doing some simple paperwork in an office for a few days, and even tending Pokemon in a farm on Akala Island. The choice is yours. Get out and explore.


E. Exploring Melemele

If you wish to explore Melemele, it is a big island, and there is plenty to see. There are Forests, Honey Fields, Hot Springs, Beaches, and many other places. Melemele boasts one of the biggest cities Hau’oli City, and is the capital of Alola. Here, up at the top of a large plateau is the challenge area where Hala offers the Grand Trial. The caves are full of Pokemon, and your Pokemon are eager to prove themselves in a Trial.


F. Pokemon School

The Pokemon School has begun to open its doors, and the school is opened up officially. Early enrollment has begun, and you can prepare to start studying. Also, Professor Burnet may be looking for people to start assisting in the research for Pokemon.

"...She-Ra?"

"Right, I thought that since this might be a First One's planet, this might be where the legend started but... She-Ra is a warrior, a person, I turn into. A really seven foot tall, sword-wielding blonde god-like being who just smashes stuff. Does that make any sense?"

He was silent for a moment, but eventually nodded. "Yeah, I think so, actually," he said.

Honestly, the idea of a planet with someone gaining powers through a transformation wasn't the strangest thing he'd ever heard.

"So what's a 'First One'?"

"The First Ones are like..." Adora struggled to explain and said, "The First Ones. They're the people who came to Etheria long ago, and put stuff all over the planet. They made the Sword and I dunno, I guess Mara got her powers from them too. I was hoping, eventually, I found find some answers but I don't think I can find them here."

Adora wobbled the Sword for a moment in her hands before saying, "You wanna see how it works?"

"I see."

Glancing down at the weapon for a moment, he grinned. "Definitely."

"Sure. Be prepared to be blown away."

Adora loved this, as she got up and raised the sword over her head. There was the faint crackle of energy and a massive build up, like the prickling of energy on the skin. "For the Honor of Greyskull!"

and then, POWER. In an instant, She-Ra stood there, seven feet tall and big as life. "What do you think?" she said, shouldering the Sword. "Neat huh?"

He took a step back as she raised the sword into the air, but he watched on intently as she transformed.

Looking her over, he gave a low, impressed whistle. "Bad-ass."

"Sometimes I just transform, just cause it's so neat," replied Adora, grinning. "Though it's got a lot of responsibility behind it. I'm not too sure what I'm gonna do with it here however."

"Hey, y'never know what could happen. If those Ultra Holes could pull us here, who knows who or what else might show up."

[adora_plz]

"I... never thought of that."

A beat.

"Oh my gosh, what if Catra finds a way here. We'd all be in danger. I should tell that officer about her."

"I'm guessing Catra is bad news?"

[adora_plz]

"She's dangerous. More dangerous than anyone can imagine."

"... and she's got it out for me. Which is doubly dangerous."

He frowned a bit at that; considering how powerful she felt just from standing next to her, the fact that this Catra would try to come after her meant she was at least a lot of trouble.

"It'd be a good idea to warn someone about that. I dunno if they'd have something to handle that, though."

[adora_plz]

"She's not powerful, but she's smart. Real smart, and she can, well, outfight me. She's real tough." Said Adora. "She knows all my moves. We kinda... grew up together."

"...Huh." He paused for a moment. "So she was someone you knew from the Fright Zone?"

[adora_plz]

"Yeah. Catra and I grew up together. As kids. And as teammates. She knew that the Horde were evil and kept it from me. It was... kind of a bad thing."

He gives a sympathetic wince. "Sounds like it. I take it she's not exactly the heroic type."

[adora_plz]

"No, she's definitely NOT heroic." said Adora, shaking her head.

He nodded. "What's she look like? Just so we know what to look for."

[adora_plz]

"She's got red hair, two-toned eyes, and claws, and is shorter than I am, and wears a thing on her head and dresses in red," replies Adora. "I can draw you a picture if you want."

"Yeah, that'd probably be helpful," he said with another nod.

[adora_plz]

"All right, I'll find some paper and a quill or something. Do they even use quills here?" asked Adora.

"Uh..." He hesitated a moment. "Not sure about quills. I think I saw someone using a pen, though."

"Okay, I need to... wait what's a pen?" asked Adora.

"It's kind of like a self-filling quill," he replied without missing a beat. Kind of like he's had to give that answer before.
