Test Drive Meme - July/August

Welcome to sunny Alola! The sun is shining, and it is July! Which means it is the warmest, most tourist-y days of the year! And that means it is fun in the sun and there is plenty to do. As the summer days are out and the Pokemon School has yet to officially begin its school year, let’s give you some orientation prompts for the area.



1. Arrival
You’ve just arrived! While not an ideal prompt for your test sample, it makes for a good testing for your first reaction here! Having fallen, gotten off the boat or plane from another region, your passport is stamped and processed. If you’re a Native, there’s plenty to see, and can go about your day. But if you’re a Faller, there’s a tour guide waiting for you. Just hold on tight!


2. The Sandy Beaches

Perhaps you’ve had the time to acclimate yourself to the area, and just want to relax now. It’s time to relax in the sunny beach, throw yourself onto the sand and surf, and just chill. You’ve had a long,tough time, and now just want to sleep. Or maybe you’re too excited! This is another world, or another region! Perhaps you’ve been planning this trip to Alola for ages, and now its time to play! The choice is yours!


3. Shopping

What’s a trip to Alola without shopping. There’s food, accessories, more food, clothing, and tourism. Ride some Pokemon, find some things to do. Eat some malasada and shop at Aina’s Kitchen and Team Rocket’s Honey Donuts. If you want to escape the heat, there’s always the mall.


4. Pokemon!

Of course! Pokemon are everywhere. And maybe your Fated Encounter is upon you now. The Tapus are urging a Pokemon to come to you, be it in an Egg format to make its way into your hands, or perhaps a bird or a bug or whatever. Somewhere, a partner is waiting for you, you just have to meet them. And then, perhaps, you will be able to make friends! Just remember in this world? You don’t catch Pokemon -- Pokemon catch you.


5. Travel

There’s plenty to see on Melemele even in one day. There’s a lot of places to travel even by foot, and a lot of room, even in this place. There’s forests, hills, the town, the smaller suburbs, and beaches, an island off the coast, and the honey field even within walking range. Take time to explore and get to know the place, you may be staying for a while until the Ultra Guardians can send you home.


6. Battle

What is Pokemon life without Battling? Now that you have your Pokemon, you can battle with them. But Pokemon battles aren’t just about training but about forming a bond. There’s no such thing as levels in this world, the level system isn’t really a thing here. Sure there’s math and science to count the precise numbers of a Pokemon’s strength but we don’t dwell on this sort of thing. What’s important is forming these bonds with your Pokemon, and learning how to communicate with them, making precious ties with them. Eat, sleep and cherish them as your own family. Manalo, and Ohana. No one is left behind, or forgotten.


7. Freeform

Anything Goes! Come at you, this is a wide world, make up your own prompt!

Sandy Beaches

"Okay, Shelob-note to self-sticking doesn't work on sand-It sticks to you. Which isn't really surprising cause it's uh... sand." Peter's saying to the Spinarak that's near his head from where he's fallen over. The Spinarak makes a noise of understanding and Peter gets back to his feet, brushing his shorts and shirt just as a ball and another Pokemon rolls over to his feet. Great. Who just saw him totally wipe out a flip?

"Hey little buddy!" He greets the Meltan, kneeling down next to it and taking in the size of the ball compared to the.. thing. "Looks like you got a little carried away too, huh?" He grins at his own pun and then looks up as he hears someone's voice. Meltan. That's this thing's name?

"Oh hey!" He greets Ash cheerfully before carefully picking the ball up and scooping Meltan up in his hand. He tosses the ball back with ease but he's a little more careful with the living creature and just holds him out to the younger boy.

"Hey! Thanks for picking up Meltan for us, and the ball." said Ash, catching the ball and taking back Meltan who ascended Rowlet's head as he landed on Ash's shoulder. "We're just playing catch with everyone, and the ball sort of got out of control."

"Whoa, a Spinerak! Don't see many of those around here. I'm Ash, from Pallet Town. Nice to meet you! this is rowlet, Meltan, Pikachu, and Lycanroc. Torracat's sleeping in the shade."

His Pokemon made a cheerful greeting.

"Yeah, no problem." Peter nods, watching Meltan to make sure he or it or whatever seems okay. At Ash's reaction to the Spinarak, Peter glances down at her-she clicks her pincers and makes a happy noise.

"Oh, uh... she was just kinda around and started following me-I've been calling her Shelob-she liked it better than Aragog." just kinda around and helped him stop some bike robbery, same thing. Now she's his friend and a great partner in crime-fighting. "I'm Peter, Peter Parker-I'm from Queens. Although that's uh... kinda a different dimension s-so that probably doesn't actually mean anything-uh Nice to meet you!"

"Ah, really? Different dimensions are pretty cool huh? I've been to, uh, maybe one or two? Depends really, there's been a lot of weird stuff in this world that I've gone through." said Ash.

"Queens huh? What's it like there? Nice to meet you Shelob!"

Shelob makes a noise of acknowledgement before climbing up Peter's leg and onto his shoulder. One day, he'll meet someone that appreciates his Lord of the Rings references.

"Queens? Uh-Nothing like Mordor but pretty rough, really. It's a big city and part of New York so there's a high crime rate." And he'd know. "But it's home." He shrugs. "Been there pretty much all my life with my Aunt May, so I'd say it's nice. Lotta tall buildings." He shifts a little. Queens is great but what he really wants to talk about-

"So, you said you've been to another dimension? That's awesome-I've read a lot about quantum theory and how the multiverse could even be a thing because of certain points in the space-time continuum and how they relate to the Einstein-Rosen... bridge." He pauses a moment because that was a lot or words that just spilled from his mouth.
