Welcome to sunny Alola! The sun is shining, and it is July! Which means it is the warmest, most tourist-y days of the year! And that means it is fun in the sun and there is plenty to do. As the summer days are out and the Pokemon School has yet to officially begin its school year, let’s give you some orientation prompts for the area.



1. Arrival
You’ve just arrived! While not an ideal prompt for your test sample, it makes for a good testing for your first reaction here! Having fallen, gotten off the boat or plane from another region, your passport is stamped and processed. If you’re a Native, there’s plenty to see, and can go about your day. But if you’re a Faller, there’s a tour guide waiting for you. Just hold on tight!


2. The Sandy Beaches

Perhaps you’ve had the time to acclimate yourself to the area, and just want to relax now. It’s time to relax in the sunny beach, throw yourself onto the sand and surf, and just chill. You’ve had a long,tough time, and now just want to sleep. Or maybe you’re too excited! This is another world, or another region! Perhaps you’ve been planning this trip to Alola for ages, and now its time to play! The choice is yours!


3. Shopping

What’s a trip to Alola without shopping. There’s food, accessories, more food, clothing, and tourism. Ride some Pokemon, find some things to do. Eat some malasada and shop at Aina’s Kitchen and Team Rocket’s Honey Donuts. If you want to escape the heat, there’s always the mall.


4. Pokemon!

Of course! Pokemon are everywhere. And maybe your Fated Encounter is upon you now. The Tapus are urging a Pokemon to come to you, be it in an Egg format to make its way into your hands, or perhaps a bird or a bug or whatever. Somewhere, a partner is waiting for you, you just have to meet them. And then, perhaps, you will be able to make friends! Just remember in this world? You don’t catch Pokemon -- Pokemon catch you.


5. Travel

There’s plenty to see on Melemele even in one day. There’s a lot of places to travel even by foot, and a lot of room, even in this place. There’s forests, hills, the town, the smaller suburbs, and beaches, an island off the coast, and the honey field even within walking range. Take time to explore and get to know the place, you may be staying for a while until the Ultra Guardians can send you home.


6. Battle

What is Pokemon life without Battling? Now that you have your Pokemon, you can battle with them. But Pokemon battles aren’t just about training but about forming a bond. There’s no such thing as levels in this world, the level system isn’t really a thing here. Sure there’s math and science to count the precise numbers of a Pokemon’s strength but we don’t dwell on this sort of thing. What’s important is forming these bonds with your Pokemon, and learning how to communicate with them, making precious ties with them. Eat, sleep and cherish them as your own family. Manalo, and Ohana. No one is left behind, or forgotten.


7. Freeform

Anything Goes! Come at you, this is a wide world, make up your own prompt!

She gave him a smile over her shoulder. "I grew up in a city in Japan myself. But I've traveled around a lot with family. So I've had to learn how to find the shops the locals actually shop at, rather than getting loaded down with a shirt that tells the world I'm a tourist." She led him into the air conditioned shop where what little pokemon designs there were, were more subtle. Or were only obviously pokemon and gym inspired if you were already part of the culture. She headed for the proper department for him and selected a nice button down shirt that would compliment his eyes almost at once. She held it up for his inspection. "The arms have small buttons to keep the sleeves rolled up when you're outside, and you can roll them back down to look more formal when you need to. Light breathable material, should help keep you cool. And solids are generally a safe choice." She gave him a hopeful smile.

Huh. So she does have taste. Kaiba touches the fabric---light enough to be bearable, but not too casual.

"I'll try."

At home his staff knew him well enough to have pieces commissioned without much input from him, so with his inexperience the help is appreciated. He gently takes it and steps into the fitting room to try it on, stepping out a minute later. It's not quite a perfect fit, but it's more than adequate, just a little loose for dealing with the heat.

He holds himself a little straighter. "It's comfortable. But how does it look?"

She considered. "A bit like my brother playing dress up," she admitted with a small giggle. "The style is good, but the size is a little on the large side." she went through the rack again. It was tempting to get him one too small, but that could be saved for later. She picked out another in a closer size and the same style. though a slightly different shade. "Try this one."

"...you do this with your brother?"

Huh. He had a few sibling rituals with Mokuba, but nothing like this---largely because he wanted to spend their limited free time together doing more fun things, like games. But he dutifully changes, taking a look at how it catches the light.

"A little better. Think that's a match?"

She shook her head. "Not since we got old enough to go shopping on our own. Actually I've spent more time with him here than I have in the last five years combined. He's been abroad since we were kids," said the preteen kid. "And I was just starting my tour when he came home to settle down."

She studied him and nodded. "Much better. Very princely."

"Thanks."

He smooths the fabric and practices moving in it...it works. He'll step out to change back into his turtleneck, then look at her curiously. "What type of tour?"

"My family runs a famous and ancient dance studio. I will be touring the world learning dance styles from around the world. As many cultures as possible."

Hah. He's reminded of a certain obnoxiously optimistic friend of Yugi's, but at least this one has taste. He nods and returns to the rack, selecting a simple white tank top.

"It's a competitive industry. You must be confident...planning to learn the local styles?"

He steps behind the curtain again, this time trying the look unbuttoned with the tank underneath. Flexibility, and all.

"Of course I am. And not as competitive as my family," she said with a small smile.

"Champions, then?" He's a competitive type at heart. It's all about being the best.

[nadenagi]

It was very much a demonstration of her acting that she simply smiled with her eyes closed and head tilted, cutely. She was perhaps one of the most competitive people on her world. But she was working hard not to show that part of her character too obviously yet.

So she smiled. And then nodded. "Something like that. The eldest child in my family always trains and if they have the skills inherits the studio and the legacy. In my case, however, twins. My whole life has been between my brother and I to see which of us will be good enough to inherit."
