Test Drive Meme - July/August

Welcome to sunny Alola! The sun is shining, and it is July! Which means it is the warmest, most tourist-y days of the year! And that means it is fun in the sun and there is plenty to do. As the summer days are out and the Pokemon School has yet to officially begin its school year, let’s give you some orientation prompts for the area.
1. Arrival
You’ve just arrived! While not an ideal prompt for your test sample, it makes for a good testing for your first reaction here! Having fallen, gotten off the boat or plane from another region, your passport is stamped and processed. If you’re a Native, there’s plenty to see, and can go about your day. But if you’re a Faller, there’s a tour guide waiting for you. Just hold on tight!
2. The Sandy Beaches
Perhaps you’ve had the time to acclimate yourself to the area, and just want to relax now. It’s time to relax in the sunny beach, throw yourself onto the sand and surf, and just chill. You’ve had a long, tough time, and now just want to sleep. Or maybe you’re too excited! This is another world, or another region! Perhaps you’ve been planning this trip to Alola for ages, and now its time to play! The choice is yours!
3. Shopping
What’s a trip to Alola without shopping. There’s food, accessories, more food, clothing, and tourism. Ride some Pokemon, find some things to do. Eat some malasada and shop at Aina’s Kitchen and Team Rocket’s Honey Donuts. If you want to escape the heat, there’s always the mall.
4. Pokemon!
Of course! Pokemon are everywhere. And maybe your Fated Encounter is upon you now. The Tapus are urging a Pokemon to come to you, be it in an Egg format to make its way into your hands, or perhaps a bird or a bug or whatever. Somewhere, a partner is waiting for you, you just have to meet them. And then, perhaps, you will be able to make friends! Just remember in this world? You don’t catch Pokemon -- Pokemon catch you.
5. Travel
There’s plenty to see on Melemele even in one day. There’s a lot of places to travel even by foot, and a lot of room, even in this place. There’s forests, hills, the town, the smaller suburbs, and beaches, an island off the coast, and the honey field even within walking range. Take time to explore and get to know the place, you may be staying for a while until the Ultra Guardians can send you home.
6. Battle
What is Pokemon life without Battling? Now that you have your Pokemon, you can battle with them. But Pokemon battles aren’t just about training but about forming a bond. There’s no such thing as levels in this world, the level system isn’t really a thing here. Sure there’s math and science to count the precise numbers of a Pokemon’s strength but we don’t dwell on this sort of thing. What’s important is forming these bonds with your Pokemon, and learning how to communicate with them, making precious ties with them. Eat, sleep and cherish them as your own family. Manalo, and Ohana. No one is left behind, or forgotten.
7. Freeform
Anything Goes! Come at you, this is a wide world, make up your own prompt!
Re: seto kaiba | card games: tos (ygo)
Someone gave Reira money. Probably the same someone who gave her clothes that aren't completely falling apart, though somehow they match the...tablet? On her arm.
It...looks like a tablet anyway.
The point is, someone handed this kid cash and said Go Get Food.
The tall guy isn't a fan. But the Goomy seems Thrilled.
Therefore-
"....is..a donut, a 'candy'...?" She asks, quietly and somewhat hesitantly.
no subject
"It's a sweet pastry. So not quite, but it's sugary if that's what you want."
He frowns at it. "But they don't normally look like this."
no subject
She seems genuinely focused on this matter. But, also-
"...what do 'donuts' normally look like..?"
Oddly, she's actually had a sweet shaped like a donut before.]
no subject
That's unusual. Must've been raised by strict parents...or worse, possibly. That possibility keeps him from dismissing the question outright.
He tugs out a napkin, delicately wipes at Goomy, and traces some of the jelly into a traditional ring donut shape.
"Like that. It's the texture of a cake...have you ever had cake?"
no subject
She's going to ponder that ring donut though. "Mnh- that looks like one of the candies... ...I don't know if one was a 'cake' though."
This is getting a little concerning.
no subject
"Look, if you want to try it so badly...Wait here."
Goomy is going to attempt to slither over and say hello in the meantime. Watch the slime, Reira. But soon enough, he returns and offers her a triangular donut.
no subject
....
Fortunately she has one free hand. "Ah... ...I don't have to use the money they gave me?" she asks, slowly taking it.
no subject
He sits and silently offers a clean cloth for her hand.
no subject
"Mnh...'s soft," she remarks happily, working away at the donut. "...There's fruit in it..."
That's jam kiddo.
no subject
She really does have a lot to learn about the world. How did someone like her end up in a place like this? Most of them were alone in this world, he'd gathered that much...but had she been alone before that?
"Have you found a Pokémon yet?"
no subject
"Mnh. And sugar is the sweet stuff," she 'repeats', keeping that in mind. She blinks however, looking up. "...It's still an egg," Reira notes. She shrugs a shoulder, her backpack shaking somewhat. "...So I'm carrying them for now. No one knows what they are though."
no subject
"Right, that's sugar. And...hmm. It looks like it won't be long until it hatches. You might want to take that egg to a more comfortable spot."
no subject
"...what kind of spot?" What defines comfortable, please tell her.
no subject
He gives Goomy another pet. "Raising it from the very beginning is a gift."
no subject
This is quite the dilemma now.
no subject
He looks at her again, feeling a strange longing. Something in him didn't want to let her go just yet. "It's a long trip ahead. You'll need to eat something healthier too."
And he's already going to grab several plates---she needs to figure out what she likes, most likely, so he'll plate loco moco, fruit salad, grilled fish...all in smaller portions, of course.
no subject
"...Healthier?" Reira blinks, and watches as Seto gathers a number of dishes- small, but still a lot- and brings it all together. "...What makes it healthier?"
Also what defines health for that matter, she's never really been told that part.
no subject
"The body requires a certain balance of foods to grow, fight illness, and stay strong."
As he speaks, he points to each ingredient---a salad, a grilled fish sitting atop a bed of rice, and a fruit and yogurt parfait for dessert.
"Vegetables are the most important, followed by grains and proteins. Greens might not taste great at first, but you need them. Grains are critical too, and you can gain protein from meat or dairy. You don't have to have them all at every meal, but it's important to eat a good balance every day."
He's constructed a similar plate for himself, and he starts in on a salad to demonstrate. This isn't the first time he's had to coach a reluctant kid to eat their veggies.
no subject
She might recognize Something once she eats it, but it's going to be hit or miss.
"Mnnhh..." Well, she's certainly not one to be picky at least. The greens are most important? Well alright she's eating the greens without fuss. "...'s water tasting," she says softly, though she doesn't stop eating it at least. It might just be an observation.
no subject
Kaiba nudges his way forward and drizzles a little vinaigrette on a single leaf, just to see if she likes it. He'll move to the less healthy options if necessary.
no subject
Monch,
"...'s different." She doesn't know the word for bitter. It's good though- at least that's the theory from the way her eyes lit up.
