Zahra had intended the barb as a friendly jibe. They'd gotten used to trading verbal blows with the Spirit of the Ring over the year they'd spent on the road together. Ah, good times. Except with all the living monsters and nearly getting murdered and/or souls stolen on a daily basis. But good times nonetheless.
"People do tend to die when they're killed, yes. Tend to, at least." No, Zahra isn't going to explain that. "But I think the stubborn bastard was just a spirit holding on to the key and scales to keep himself grounded. Kind of like you and me, but without being merged with a shard of an unfathomably ancient fiend of pure darkness."
Zahra snaps their fingers, remembering something. "Say, do you think anybody else around here would be down for a Monster World game? We never got to finish our extended campaign before we entered Atem's memories and you tried to destroy everything again."
