All of this is radically different for him actually. People don't hold a fierce sparring session while trying to win a Pokemon battle at the same time every day.

But as different as it is, it's in a good way. The adrenaline rush is the same, but his mind remains sharply focused on the physical demands of the fight. No cards, no packs of degenerate duelists bearing down on him, nothing about what he's lost, just what's happening within the moment now.

Just right now.

"I do have a few tricks of my own making." he quips back, advancing just enough that Adora can't immediately recover that improvised staff. Then he whistles for Hawlucha to come back over and take a quick breath of respite from fighting Fred- and also for strategy talk. "... Avoid those flames, stay close in. Got it?"
